Surgical Spirits

Surgical Spirits BP is composed mainly from ethanol (ethyl alcohol) to which methanol has been added to make it unfit for consumption. It also contains small amounts of castor oil, diethyl phthalate and methyl salicylate.

Pharmacy Brand Surgical Spirits BP can be used:

  • For surface disinfection
  • For disinfections of instruments such as thermometers etc.
  • As an anti-bacterial sanitizer

Dosage Form

Available in 125 ml and 500 ml bottles. Also available in a gallon (4.55 litre) container.

Warnings

Keep out of sight and reach of children.
Harmful by inhalation and if swallowed.
Avoid contact with eyes and skin.
Highly flammable. Keep away from sources of ignition-no smoking.
