Pharmony Throat Syrup Information

Ingredients

Glycerine is used in this formula for its soothing effect on irritated throats. It has demulcent, mucoprotective and emollient properties. Glycerine forms a soothing film over the mucous membrane of the throat which keeps it moist to avoid dry irritation.
For generations natural lemon oil has been used to aid in soothing of the throat. Aniseed flavour gives the syrup a pleasant scent and taste which young children like.
With its unique formulation, Pharmony uses a celulose thickner which helps the syrup adhere to the back of the throat and also gives it mucoadhesive properties. As a result, the syrup remains in contact with the throat for a longer period of time.

Suitable from 4 months.

100ml bottle

Dosage

To be taken orally.
4 months – 1 year:
½ teaspoonful (2.5 ml) up to 4 times daily.
1 – 5 years:
1 teaspoonful (5 ml) up to 4 times daily.
5 years +:
1-2 teaspoonfuls (5 – 10 ml) up to 4 times daily.
For babies this product may be applied to the tongue or soother.

For generations Lemon & Honey as a preparation has been used to help soothe sore throats. We all know the benefits of Lemon for Adults but for small children there may be health risks associated with natural Honey which you may not know.

Honey has a strong association with Infant botulism and can occur when a child ingests spores of Clostridium botulinum bacteria, which are found in dirt and dust and can contaminate natural honey which is found in the wild.

This illness typically affects babies who are between 3 weeks and 6 months old, but they're susceptible to it until their first birthday.

This is why Pharmony does not contain honey and is safe for use in babies & children from 4+ Months of age.
